Weights explained
When you purchase machine pallet stretch wrap by the ton, you have to be very careful if you are to compare like for like. You are invoiced for the net weight, which, from all suppliers includes the weight of the card core. As paper is cheaper than plastic, many companies supply with an extra heavy core to bring down the price per ton. There can be over 1kg more film per roll with IBIS Gulf wrap.

This means that you have to know the weight of the card core to compare the price per ton against IBIS.
For eample with 23 micron 1500 meter rolls.
Weight of a 23 micron IBIS Gulf wrap machine roll is:
Film weight: 15.90 kgs + .70 kg card core = 16.6 kg chargeable
Please find below the calculation for a well known competitor.
Weight of a 23 micron 1500 meter roll
Film weight: 15.90 kgs + 1.80 kg card core = 17.67 kgs
This means you have to add 6.5% on to the competitors price for a fair comparison
e.g. Competitors price: £1000 would be equivalent to buying
IBIS wrap at £1065
For your exact comparison, on the weights you are being charged per roll, you will need to check the pallet weight and divide by the number of rolls per pallet. It is also worth weighing individual rolls to check weights, as some companies charge a gross weight which includes the pallet and packaging.
Our ultra light cores also reduce your waste costs - 1kg of card less to recycle.
